On an international basis, there are other recognised assessment schemes available and BEAM adopts a similar credit basis evaluation approach to benchmark the overall environmental performance of buildings in terms of site considerations, material usage, energy aspects, water consumption, indoor environmental quality and innovations, throughout its life cycle.
