Established in 2002, the BEAM Society consists of individual and corporate members from all disciplines (owners, developers, facility managers, designers, researchers, contractors, product and material suppliers, etc) with an interest in enhancing building environmental performance.

Applications from Ordinary Member are welcomed at any time and reviewed in line with the constitution. BEAM Society has currently over 300 members.   

Daily operations of the Society are overseen by the Executive Committee [click on this to view membership]. On 10 May, 2010 the Executive Committee adopted a revised BEAM Society organization structure  and the formation of new Working Committees. 

Working Groups are established on a permanent or as needed basis through which members advise on the continued development of BEAM. Present and recent working groups include:  

• The Communication Working Group, seeking to strength the identify of BEAM particularly amongst the general public; and
• The Technical Review Panels, advising on the refinement of BEAM into a comprehensive scheme for all building types at all life stages  

In the future, these and other working groups are expected to address issues such as the refinement of the modular BEAM building label, the establishment of the licensed assessor network, and the further integration of sustainability into BEAM.
